Description
The second of a series of four drawings with the connecting theme being fiction that really impacted me. This is the climactic moment in Big Hero 6 where Baymax sacrifices himself to save both Hiro and another person. While this particular moment wasn't the most touching in the film (that would go to a scene earlier in the film where Baymax shows Hiro videos of Tadashi working on Baymax), it fits the style I wanted to create for this series.
Although this movie was very emotionally moving for me, it wasn't the emotions that really impacted me. Rather, it was the subject and dressing of the movie that hit me. The whole premise is that a bunch of 'nerds' are able to become superheroes via what is currently considered bleeding-edge technology. It kinda made me realize how I had been glamorizing engineering into something it's not; that what I was really interested in was the design and aesthetics of things, not the technical aspect.
